Zach Trout is a Director of Photography from Omaha, Nebraska. He specializes in narrative, commercial, and music video work.


Zach graduated from the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and film in Lincoln, Nebraska with a degree in Film and New Media. He has received many awards for his work in both national and international film festivals.


Zach's emphasis is in cinematography and lighting. As an undergrad, he focused solely on lighting film, leading to jobs around the nation for his gaffing work. He draws influence from Conrad Hall, Jack Cardiff, Alfred Hitchcock,

and Robert Richardson.


Zach's cinematography style reinvigorates the 1940's/1950's American with a modern Noir twist. His dynamic framing has allowed him to be involved with over 50 short films during his three years in the film program, and more than a dozen narrative, commercial, and music videos.
